E&C provided the M/E/P engineering design for the UTHSC-H recreation center which includes 17,000 SF of new space and 9,500 SF of renovated spaces. This project was programmed to be used for classes, offices, meetings, lockers, toilets, showers, laundry, racquet ball court, exercise/fitness center, outdoor heated swimming pool, and picnic areas. The total construction cost is approx. $3,000,000.00. The design addressed: LEED compliance, an energy budget evaluation report, underfloor air distribution system, CFC free equipment, minimize light pollution at night, Chlorine free analysis for the outdoor swimming pool, the aesthetics of the space, water conservation, waterless urinals, new state of the art HVAC system with heat recovery systems and an Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) analysis.
